Although the Colosseum was built in 75 bce it was a major social development during the ancient Roman Empire and still to this day it is centerpiece of Rome. In 249 b.c.e the Amphitheater better known as the Colosseum was the place where Christians were executed.
Why were Christians only executed and how did this execution take place? Also, why was this such a big social development in Rome?
